Fireworks are free over the lake at midnight in Lake George Village.

Have fun and stay safe this weekend. A new year begins another year of fun in Lake George!

The days will be getting longer starting on December 22nd but the temperatures will continue to drop for a while.  We've enjoyed some pleasant weather for December and it doesn't look like we'll have a white Christmas this year.

For those of you that haven't seen Lake George freeze over, it's an amazing sight!  Once the ice is thick enough, fun on top of the lake begins!  Ice fishing shanties appear by the dozens.  We don't only ice skate on the lake, we drive on it and celebrate on it with the Winter Carnival held weekends during the month of February.

Here is a safety guide tip regarding ice safety from the NYS DEC -
