Corn Mazes Near Lake George

Two corn mazes anchor fall activities in the wider Lake George region, one at a local farm about 35 minutes away and one at a historic fort roughly an hour from Lake George. Both are seasonal, both build clues into the maze itself to help visitors find their way out, and both are included with general admission rather than requiring a separate ticket.

A Farm Corn Maze with Puzzle-Piece Clues

The farm's corn maze, called the Amazing Maize Corn Maze, is designed for all ages and typically runs from mid-September through the end of October. Clues are worked into the maze in the form of hidden puzzle pieces, which visitors gather at stations along the way as part of getting through. For younger kids not quite ready for the full-size maze, the farm also runs a separate kiddie corn maze scaled for children up to about 5 or 6 years old.

A History-Themed Corn Maze at Fort Ticonderoga

Fort Ticonderoga's corn maze, called the Heroic Corn Maze, typically runs from August through mid-October, though this year it opened at the end of July instead. Its clues take a different format than a typical maze: stations throughout ask a history question with two possible answers, and visitors choose their path through the maze based on which answer they think is correct. The fort has also run a kiddie corn maze in past seasons, though it's worth confirming with the fort directly whether that's part of this year's offering, since it wasn't listed on their site as of this writing.
