Featured Early Fall Attraction: Natural Stone Bridge & Caves
Many major attractions stay open through Columbus Day/Indigenous Peoples Day, including Natural Stone Bridge & Caves, which we recommend as a top spot to visit during September.
Located just 30 minutes from Lake George in Pottersville, Natural Stone Bridge & Caves is a natural wonder featuring a self-guided cave tour (most of the tour is outside of the cave with scenic views), massive marble rock formations, gemstone mining for kids, and more.
With cool breezes, a lack of bugs, and maybe even some early fall foliage, this is one attraction that can't be beat. And, speaking of pumpkin ice cream, they have some at Stone Bridge Ice Cream, just 2 1/2 miles from the attraction.
Make the Most of Early Autumn Outdoors
Take advantage of the not-too-hot but not-yet-cold weather with some outdoor explorations:

- Biking: Take a peaceful ride along the Warren County Bikeway or Glens Falls Feeder Canal Trail (we must plug pumpkin ice cream again - Sprinkles and Cooper's Cave are along the Warren County Bikeway).
- Boating: Enjoy less boat traffic and uncrowded bays.
