The new frontier of amusement park entertainment is finally here! This summer, thrill-seekers will be able to experience one of The Great Escape’s roller coasters like never before.
As the result of a partnership between Samsung Gear VR, Oculus, and Six Flags, the Steamin’ Demon will transform into an inverting Virtual Reality Roller Coaster giving riders an experience like no other!
Riders ages 13 and over will be able to wear wireless headsets that synchronize high-resolution imagery with the movements of the coaster, making them feel like they’re moving through an entirely new world. Because the physical motion of the coaster is synched with the visuals on the headset, there is little likelihood of motion sickness, contrary to what some may expect.
Great Escape Season Pass Holders will be able to ride the “New Revolution Virtual Reality Coaster” before it’s open to the general public, so if you want to be one of the first to have this new experience, be sure to get your pass soon!
If you’re not interested in virtual reality, don’t worry – you can opt to ride the Steamin’ Demon without the headset.
