Lake George RV Park Wins Two Statewide Awards

Lake George RV Park won Best Campground Amenities and Best Pet-Friendly Campground in the 2026 Best of Camp New York Awards. Campground Owners of New York (CONY) presented the awards on September 28 during its annual meeting and conference in Lake George.

The camper-voted awards drew more than 3,200 participants and over 10,000 votes, recognizing outstanding campgrounds and outdoor hospitality experiences across New York State. The honors capped a milestone season celebrated under the theme “Sixty Years of SMILES” and add to the park’s national recognition, which includes a spot on RV LIFE’s 2026 Best of the Best list.

A Family-Owned Lake George Tradition Since 1966

Victor and Jessica King founded Lake George RV Park in 1966, making it one of the pioneers of the modern camping resort. At a time when many campgrounds offered little more than a place to park a travel trailer or motorhome, the Kings envisioned a destination that combined the natural beauty of camping with hospitality, recreation, and resort-quality amenities.

For 60 years, three generations of the King family have welcomed guests from across North America, and many who first visited as children now return with children and grandchildren of their own.

“Reaching our 60th anniversary has given us an opportunity to reflect on just how much has changed since my parents opened the park in 1966,” said David King, president and CEO of Lake George RV Park. “RVs are different, technology is different and our park has grown tremendously, but families still come here for many of the same reasons they did 60 years ago: to spend time together, enjoy the outdoors and create memories.”

Resort Amenities and Pet-Friendly Features

The Best Campground Amenities award recognizes facilities and services developed through decades of continuous reinvestment. The 130-acre resort features 370 full-hookup RV sites that accommodate RVs of all sizes, including luxury motorcoaches and Big Rigs, along with 26 luxury cabins and four fully equipped rental trailers.

Amenities include heated indoor and outdoor swimming pools, the Cascade Cove aquatic playground, a 38-person hot tub, two indoor movie theaters, live family entertainment, complimentary paddle boats, lighted pickleball and tennis courts, and on-site trolley transportation.

The park also offers Charlie’s Bark Park, a two-acre off-leash recreation area with separate spaces for large and small dogs, walking trails, agility equipment, a spray fountain, and dog wash facilities.

“These awards are particularly meaningful because they come from the campers themselves,” King said. “Our family and staff have always believed that providing an exceptional camping experience means continually listening to our guests, reinvesting in the park and finding new ways to make their vacations more enjoyable.”

Reservations Open for the 2027 Camping Season
