On Canada Street, across from Shepard Park, Adirondack Winery & Extreme Heights Cidery Lake George Tasting Room offers wine, whiskey, and cider tastings year-round. The winery has produced more than 35 varietals since 2008, and its Extreme Heights Cidery launched in fall 2023 with hard ciders made from New York apples. A second tasting room operates in Queensbury.
Reservations are recommended, and they're required for groups of 8 or more.
On Route 9 in Lake George, family-run Ledge Rock Hill Winery & Vineyard makes limited-production wines from its own vineyard and select partner vineyards. Reds age at least 10 months in oak, whites ferment cool in stainless steel, and tastings are customized to each guest's preferences. The tasting room often hosts live music and is open seasonally from April through December.
Farm Distillery Spirits in Fort Ann
About 5 miles from Lake George on Route 149, Springbrook Hollow Farm Distillery crafts spirits in a custom copper pot still using New York State ingredients and spring water from the property. The 200-acre farm has views of French Mountain, and a historic wooden pipeline that once carried spring water to local settlers is displayed in the tasting room.
The tasting room is open year-round, with tours, cocktails, and seasonal outdoor seating. Leashed dogs are welcome.
