I truly hate to write this negative review however I feel this needs to be said. My family and I have been vacationing in Lake George every summer for 14 years and 2-3 trips to The Docksider were always a "must do" each year. Up until now. Two years ago when we went we were seated, but nobody ever came to our table for over 30 min. No drinks, no food order period until I alerted other employees multiple times that we had not yet been taken care of. When a waitress finally came over she was apologetic and stated that for some reason no waitstaff had been assigned to our particular table. Not really sure how that happens but we shook it off and eventually enjoyed our meal. Figuring they were just having a bad day, we went again a few days later and the EXACT same thing happened to us. People that were seated well after us were getting drinks and placing food orders but nobody would even look in our direction. This time the table next to us happened to notice as well and alerted the staff. The waitress came over and apologized profusely and we eventually enjoyed our meal. The following year we went there for lunch on two different occasions and had the EXACT same experience. It took a good 20-30 min after we were seated before we were even acknowledged, all while others around us were getting their drinks and placing their food orders. We decided to give it one more try this year and sure enough, the same experience. We were seated and waited for 20+ minutes, but nobody acknowledged us. There was a table next to us that was seated a good 5 min after us. After about a 5 more min their drink order was taken but we were yet to be acknowledged. A few moments later, a 2nd waitress begin walking towards our table while apologizing for the delay and we figured we were finally going to get service. But no. Once she got there, she turned her back toward us and proceeded to wait on the table who had just placed their drink order. At this point we decided to leave. On my way out I asked to speak with a manager. When I did, I informed her of the complete lack of service during our last 5 visits and that we would not be coming back. Trying to be somewhat funny, I mentioned that we were beginning to get a complex and feel as though it is just us they keep singling out. Strangely, she agreed and said that nobody else ever has this problem. In all fairness, she did offer to seat us again and promised we would get "extra special" service, but when I declined and repeated that we would not be coming back her response was "That's your loss". Wow... Talk about poor customer skills. That comment was definitely the final nail in the coffin. As much as we used to really love this place we most definitely will never be going back now. (Note: I am only giving the food 1 star simply because we were never served any. But on all previous visits the food was always very good.)
