It’s always exciting when Lake George makes a new accolade, but it’s especially thrilling when it’s from a super reputable organization like Travel + Leisure, considered to be one of the world’s most influential travel brands. See what they had to say!

The Spring-Fed Beauty & Historical Significance
According to Travel + Leisure ‘s recent piece on beautiful lakes Lake George is one of only 12 – out of thousands – of lakes spread out across the US that made this exclusive list for its “natural good looks.”
The respected publication recognized Lake George for the Narrows, where “the Southern Adirondacks squeeze the spring-fed lake into a five-mile stretch dotted with hundreds of islands of all sizes.” The lake’s rich history was also acknowledged, including the Sagamore Resort that dates back to the 1880s, and the waterfront mansions along what locals call Millionaire’s Row.
The rest of the list included: Yellowstone Lake (WY), Lake Tahoe (CA), Lake Superior (MN, MI, WI), Echo Lake (NH), Lake Powell (UT, AZ), Lake Santeetlah (NC), Flathead Lake (MT), Hanging Lake (CO), Crater Lake (OR), Caddo Lake (TX, LA), and Mono Lake (CA).
