2026 LakeGeorge.com Fab Five Winners: Best Lake George Beach

Nothing defines a Lake George summer quite like a day at the beach. The 2026 LakeGeorge.com Fab Five results, shaped by community voting, highlight the top beaches for swimming, relaxation, and recreation. This category recognizes the shoreline spots that deliver the ultimate lakeside experience.

1. Million Dollar Beach

Million Dollar Beach claims the top spot as the largest and most famous public beach on the entire lake. Operated by New York State, this expansive sandy shoreline sits at the southern tip of the lake basin, offering visitors excellent swimming areas, fully equipped bathhouses, lifeguards, beach volleyball courts, and stunning panoramic views of the surrounding Adirondack peaks.

2. Shepard Park Beach

Shepard Park Beach delivers a lively, walkable beach experience right in the center of the village. This popular sandy swimming spot sits directly adjacent to a vibrant public amphitheater, allowing beachgoers to cool off in the water while remaining steps away from village shops, restaurants, ice cream parlors, and free seasonal evening concerts.

3. Veteran’s Memorial Park

Veteran’s Memorial Park offers an exceptional, family-oriented lakefront escape in Bolton Landing. Following a massive multi-million dollar revitalization project, this park features a beautifully updated layout that includes a sandy swimming beach, a newly built multi-purpose recreation building, a seasonal kayak launch, basketball courts, and shaded picnic areas with public docks.

4. Lake George Dog Beach

Lake George Dog Beach provides a unique, pet-friendly lakeside sanctuary nestled right between the steamboat docks and Million Dollar Beach. As one of the few designated shorelines where dogs are legally allowed to roam off-leash, this popular stretch of sand gives pups a safe place to splash around and swim in the clear water.

5. Roger’s Memorial Beach

Roger’s Memorial Beach rounds out the top five as a premier historic beach destination in Bolton Landing. This scenic park provides a classic, peaceful summer day by the water, offering a wide sandy beach, clear swimming lanes, public boat docks, tennis and pickleball courts, and a picturesque wooden pier complete with a vintage bandstand gazebo.
