The highlight of our trip. Adirondack Extreme was the perfect mix of outdoor adventure, family fun, and unforgettable memories. Our youngest was 6 and the oldest was 72! The courses were incredibly well maintained, the staff was outstanding with the kids and first-time climbers, and the scenery in the Adirondacks made the experience even more special. FAQs About Adirondack Extreme Adventure Course
What are the age, height, and weight requirements at Adirondack Extreme?
Kids must be at least 6 years old. There is no height requirement for the children's course featuring the Saferoller continuous belay system. For the 4-Course Adventure, guests need to be at least 9 years old and be able to reach the tips of their fingers to a height of 5'9" while keeping their feet flat on the ground.
To tackle the full 5 and 6-Course Adventures, guests must be at least 12 years old and be able to reach a height of 5'11" with feet flat on the ground. For the Kids Treetop Course, kids must weigh less than 175 pounds. Participants on the Adventure & Zipline Courses (ages 9 and up) must be 310 pounds or lighter, with a 42-inch waist or smaller.
What happens if it rains?
Adirondack Extreme operates rain or shine, and in fact the forest canopy acts as a natural umbrella, making this a great outdoor activity even on a drizzly day. Should there be severe weather conditions, they will temporarily close the courses. In the event that happens, if guests have been waiting for over 1 hour, they can receive a rain check or refund, depending on how far the customer was on the course before it closed.
What do we wear to climb?
You must wear secure, closed-toed shoes. Tightly fitting athletic wear is recommended; loose, baggy, clothing or shirts tied around the waist are prohibited. Long hair must be tied back securely.
How long does the entire experience take?
While it depends on which course(s) you choose and your pace, you can expect to spend 2 1/2 to 4 1/2 hours if you're completing all six adventure courses, including the brief training session.
What are the logistics of getting on the course?
After you've completed your waiver form and paid, you undergo a brief group training session. Here, you'll be fitted into your harness and your guide will instruct you on how to attach yourself safely to lines and zipline lines. From there, you can proceed onto one of the courses.
