The Gore Mountain Gem & Mineral Shop, formerly Garnet Mine Tours, invites you to embark on a unique expedition in the Adirondacks. You can treasure hunt for your own garnet while learning about the rich history of the region!

Everyone Goes Home With a Treasure!

Appropriate for all ages, Gore Mountain Gem & Mineral Shop invites you to come enjoy a brief history lesson from a knowledgeable guide prior to your own treasure hunt for garnets. The outings are fun, informative, easy for kids, and everyone is guaranteed to find garnets. Found stones can be sold by weight at the store when you return.

This is one of the largest garnet deposits on the planet, and your unique opportunity to get in on literally hunting for your own treasure. They're open daily from July 1 through Labor Day, and are only 35 minutes from Lake George.
