A new chapter is unfolding at this beloved resort, as new owner Kim Cornelius has taken the helm. We sat down with her to chat about what's new and what's staying the same at Treasure Cove Resort, and what guests can expect today.
A Lake George Lover & Community Advocate
Local entrepreneur Kim Cornelius took over operations after having made an investment with the previous long-term owner as he prepared for a quasi-retired life and other adventures.
For Kim, purchasing the resort was less about starting anew, and more about caring for a place she'd already grown to love. "We were very familiar with the resort over the past decade, and many of the guests who stay with us each year," she said.
As a testament to Kim's longstanding position in the Lake George community, some may remember when the iconic Robert Rogers and Native American canoe carving along Beach Road was constructed in 2017. Guess what? Kim spearheaded this effort along with Mayor Bob Blais.
"Our desire was to provide residents and vacationers with knowledge of that time period that helped establish the early beginnings of our country. It's a great depiction of that time period during the French and Indian War."
Property-Wide Renovations to Elevate Treasure Cove Resort Even More
Although Treasure Cove Resort was already a highly rated and sought after resort on Lake George, Kim took on numerous improvement projects to the resort since taking it over. Every building and cabin received a new roof, new decks and flooring were installed in many units, and new beds were furnished in each room.
Property-wide upgrades also include repaired landscaping and drainage around the beach, new outdoor furniture, replaced north docks, updated children's play equipment, and a full interior and exterior repaint of the resort.
Welcome Returning & New Guests!
When asked what she'd like to say to guests who have stayed at the resort in the past, but are potentially hesitant about returning with the business under new ownership, Kim replied that she actually has met many of the guests over the years, and loves hearing their family stories and memories of their times at the resort.
"We always look forward to our returning guests each season, and we look forward to meeting more as we continue to provide the absolute best vacation experience with superb amenities at reasonable rates."

A recent Google review for Treasure Cove Resort raved "We love the big yard, fire pit, BBQ gas grill, and access to the beach, pools, volleyball, ping pong, shuffleboard, canoes, and paddleboards!" They go on to say how their expectations were exceeded, from little details like dishwasher detergent provided, to a closet full of games and toys excellent for families.
Other guests praise the efficient, friendly employees, note that the kitchens come well-stocked with dishes, and highlight clean, well-kept pools, among other things.
While many Lake George lodging properties have a private beach, even this aspect of Treasure Cove Resorts steps above: "We've stayed at other places and always had to drive to public beaches because the beach area was too small, but we found ourselves more than comfortable here."
Speaking of the beach, Kim let us know that some of their guests have stayed at Treasure Cove Resort for generations, with some of the older folks now in their 60s and 70s, able to show off photos of themselves as babies on the beach!

Regarding quiet peaceful areas, there is a space by the dock area under their pergola (check it out in the below photo!) where guests can enjoy a drink during the day, take in the activities going on and people watch, or bring wine and cheese to enjoy here in the evening.
And, ice cream and bags of ice are offered to guests at the office, as well as any necessities they need during their stay.
