Holiday Parade & Tree Lighting in Granville

When: Event has passed. Watch this page for updates.
Cost: FREE ADMISSION

The Village of Granville/Chamber will host their annual holiday parade and tree lighting on Friday, December 7, 2018.

A small parade steps off from the Great Meadow Federal Credit Union at 6:00pm, arriving at Veteran's Park around 6:15pm.

The Park is lit by Santa and a group of Elementary School Students, grades 1-2. The 50,000 +/- lights in the Park are synchronized to music during the lighting. This year’s theme is “Rudolph’s Rockin’ Christmas” and the song used to light the Park will be Run Run Rudolph by Kelly Clarkson.

Throughout the Village, a Holiday Committee numbering 40 members assists the Village DPW in placing approximately 125,000 lights. The Village arranges for Santa to be in the Park, and gifts are provided to children by the Chamber of Commerce. Dunkin’ Donuts provides coffee and donuts for patrons, and the American Legion and VFW Auxiliaries team up with Revive Church to provide Cocoa and Cookies. The Boy Scouts provide s'mores and warming fires in the park.

The Chamber provides free Horse & Wagon rides and Live Reindeer. The Pember Library and Museum and the Slate Valley host open houses and generally see attendance of 1,000- 1,250. Following the lighting of the Park, the Village & Chamber sponsor nightly light shows on the hour from 5:00-10:00pm. These run 12/8-1/14. Patrons can park on Quaker St., W. Main St., or Morrison Avenue and tune their radio to 89.3 FM and the lights in the park will move in conjunction to the music.
