9th Annual Baskets for Ben
About the Event
The 9th annual Baskets for Ben is here! Tickets are on sale now for $20 per person. Doors open at 5pm and the live auction begins at 6:30pm. Area restaurants have donated heavy apps, desserts, and drinks. Come join the fun, enjoy the entertainment, and browse over 100 baskets to help raise money to give local children a little lift.
This year Auctioneer Mike Smith of Cherry Tree Auctions in Greenwich will guide the event, conducting a live auction of valuable theme baskets donated by local residents and businesses.
They are raffling off a spectacular Wheelbarrow of Wine valued at $750 put together by Hope Rosati and Friends and a fabulous custom-made Adirondack Fire Pit forged by Monahan Metals of Glens Falls and valued at $500.
Baskets for Ben is once again pairing up with Glens Falls radio station WFFG Froggy 100.3 as their radio broadcast sponsor and LOOK TV of Saratoga Springs as their television network sponsor.
Tickets include appetizers, desserts, a cash bar, door prizes, gift baskets, and entertainment by the talented Kyle Lewis and his guitar.
Tickets may be reserved in advance by calling 518.792.4514 or purchased at the door.
About the Memorial Fund
The Ben Osborn Memorial Fund was created in loving memory of CPL Benjamin D. Osborn. Ben was killed during a combat rescue operation in Kunor Province, Afghanistan on June 15, 2010 while serving in the US Army during Operation Enduring Freedom.
The memorial fund aims to carry forward Ben's legacy of discipline, pride, and selfless sacrifice. The positive impact Ben made in life continues on through this fund.
Ben's Fund supports children with need in conjunction with 50 schools in Warren, Washington, Saratoga, and Essex Counties by providing purchased goods and services including electronics, clothing, bedding, food, tutoring, school supplies, eyeglasses, transportation costs, field trip admission expenses, etc.
Additionally, the Fund awards 20 scholarships to qualifying graduating seniors from 10 local school districts. They also donate household and personal care items to 12 local food pantries.
