Why Lake George Escape?
Lake George Escape is a 178-acre campground 10 minutes north of Lake George that offers camping cabins and RV sites, plus a slew of fun things to do you will not find at any other campground in the region.
Activities include:
- Tubing, fishing, kayaking, or canoeing on the Schroon River
- Swimming in the river or in their heated pool
- Basketball, tennis, volleyball, horseshoes, and shuffleboard
- Wagon rides and pedal carts
- And more!
Some activities include a small fee, like for a canoe or kayak rental, but many are available at no charge. There are also weekly themes throughout the season, like Game Show Week, with challenges and prizes.
Lake George Escape has an on-site restaurant, Riverside Provisions, that specializes in barbecue fare - perfect for an outdoorsy, campground wedding! For wedding or event guests, you're able to utilize the campground's restaurant for catering, or bring in your own vendor.
Wedding and event guests have access to all the same amenities as the campers!
Multiple Options for Event Space
Lake George Escape has three primary event spaces to consider for your campground wedding or event, depending on your guest count.
Small Event Tent
The small event tent is ideal for small weddings, showers, birthday parties, or family reunions, and can comfortably accommodate between 40 and 50 guests. The rental price starts at $500.
Large Event Tent
The large event tent is perfect for a medium to large wedding, with 200 to 250 guests. This option allows the hosts to completely personalize the space to meet their vision. Pricing varies.
The event tents are centrally located on the property, within walking distance of most of the cabins. Guests are welcome to request sites that are closer to the space, and Lake George Escape will do their best to accommodate.
Meeting Room
For a smaller occasion or a corporate get-together, the meeting room in the upstairs area of the lodge can be rented out starting at $50 a day. Note, this is not an accessible space.
Customize Your Own Space
Certain areas of the property will work better than others for a ceremony location, but Lake George Escape is open to requests and is more than happy to work with couples to bring their vision to life.
The beach could offer a nice backdrop for I dos, as could some of the sites overlooking the ponds.
What Else to Know About Booking an Event Here
A minimum number of 10 campsites or cabins need to be booked to lock in the small or large event tent space. These can be all campsites, all cabins, or a mix of the two, and they can be paid for by the hosts, or by the individual guests. A group rate will apply.
Lake George Escape does not require groups to use specific vendors, however, they do need you to communicate who you're using for logistical reasons. The staff needs to be able to know who needs access to the property and who they can expect to see.
Here's a breakdown of the rest of the pertinent info for wedding or event hosts to know about:
- The on-site restaurant team can be contracted separately for catering and bar service options. Note, the team is not approved to offer bar service/serve anything outside the package through the restaurant team. You can also opt to hire a separate catering company for bar service.
- Chairs and tables are provided for event usage; chair covers and table linens are the responsibility of the hosts.
- There is an add-on option for a s'mores pit.
- Discounts are available for things like rental golf carts, mini golf for groups, or other activities that include a fee.
- Event guests must follow the same rules as other campers, including quiet hours (10pm Sunday through Thursday, 11pm Friday and Saturday), speed limit within the park, and car tags in use for any guests staying offsite.
- Couples work with an Activities & Events Team, and have a designated contact leading up to the event, as well as a day-of coordinator.
- Rental dance floors are allowed, as well as bands and DJs - just communicate with Lake George Escape on the plan, and get them the contract and any other necessary documentation so they can monitor who is using the campground.
- There are no blackout dates in terms of holidays, although it is first come, first serve, and space is more likely to be limited during these times.
