More about Usher Park Beach

Usher Park Beach is located down a steep hill (you can ask the state workers with the golf carts to take you up and down if you are loaded with too much beach stuff). It's small enough that you can know where your kids are at all times. The area where you swim is extremely shallow, and a lifeguard must be on duty. On the top of the hill, there is a fantastic playground for children of all ages and a very large picnic area for visitors to use. You'll also find a tennis court, a basketball court, and restrooms.

There are two pavilions, one for groups of 40-150 people and a smaller one for groups under 40 people. Reservations for pavilions are made at the Town Center in Lake George by completing the proper application form. Please call the town office at (518) 668-5722 to check availability first.

Fires are only permitted in the designated park grills near the picnic tables or in commercial or residential grills brought to the park.

To Get There: Take Beach Road east past the steamboats and Million Dollar Beach until you come to the end. Take a left onto Route 9L. Drive a few hundred yards and you will see a parking lot and a playground on your right. Park at the parking lot and follow the path down the hill to the beach.
