We rented campsite 1, the largest site. Nobles was originally a two site island with sites 1 and 2 on each end of the island each with their own dock. No more. 1 and 2 share site 2’s dock now and it’s quite a trek carrying heavy stuff from the shared dock to site 1. A third site, site 3, has been carved out of site 1’s side and has been given site 1’s original dock. Site 3 is said to be kept for rangers use and not reservable online by public. However, a noisy party arrived on site 3 and their kitchen was 30 ft from one of our sleeping tents. We had no privacy and were woken up at 6 am by their cooking and noise. When both occupied, sites 1 and 3 are noisy and crowded. There were two portapotties for three sites (12 people). Do not recommend.

The island is super close to Hulettes Landing Marina. About a 10 minute boat ride. Campsite 1 is the largest and has the most open area for many tents we had about 5 up including the picnic table pop up. The dock is a bit of a hike from the clearing. Dock 3 is much closer. Has an amazing rock on the north part of the island great for hanging out and looking at the north part of the lake. Could see tons of fireworks along the shore on 4th of July. Great area for swimming. Campsite two is not rentable because the rangers hold onto it for emergencies. Campsite 3 is much smaller and doesn't hold as many tents. The island has portipotties which were new but still on the gross side. Probably one of my favorite islands so far despite the bathroom situation. Lots of trees and the best swimming spot that we have encountered. Nice and deep of the rock on site 1.
