Diamond Island is a small picnic island on Lake George, it is the southern most island and closest to the village with 4 picnic areas with charcoal, grills, fireplaces and tables.
Diamond Island has quite the historic past, it is said that Abercromby encamped with a few hundred men on Diamond Island during the French and Indian War, and during the Revolution, Burgoyne sent troups with supplies and artillery to fortify the island. Be sure to look for the monument on the island.
