Elvis Festival: '68 Comeback
After his stint in the army and disappointing career as a star of the silver screen, Elvis was despondent and felt like the music industry had left him behind. ‘68 COMEBACK is the follow up to ELVIS ’56, presenting the next chapter in Elvis’ life by taking the viewer on a journey from the King’s enlistment to his return to musical dominance in 1968.
This concert stars two Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artists: Dwight Icenhower and Jay Dupuis. Backed by the Change of Habit tribute band recreating the Elvis sound, ’68 ends with the iconic “If I Can Dream” performance. This nostalgic moment of Elvis’ 68 Comeback Special redefined the King’s career and expressed the sorrow and salvation faced by the nation during the civil rights movement. There will be a special opening set of 50’s music by Riley Jenkins.
Doors open at 7 PM.
