Unleash Joy & Run Amok at Pappy's Playground
Located within Charles R. Wood Park, Pappy's Playground is a wonderland for children. It features unique play structures that inspire imagination and invite fun challenges - this is different from a traditional playground, but equally as fun!
From banging on chimes to climbing on log structures to crawling through caves, there's plenty for the kids to do. You'll find restrooms plus a skating park for older kids within the Charles R. Wood Park property.
Sandy Fun at Usher's Park & Beach
Part playground, part beach, Usher's Park is considered the go-to kid-friendly beach on Lake George. The playground features two separate structures, swings, a playground swinger, and a large free little book library.
You'll find plenty of picnic tables and grills in the park area as well, before you walk down to the beach. The beach is small with a shallow swimming section, and there are restrooms for convenience.
Shepard Park: Small Playground, Big Fun!
Although the playground at Shepard Park is small, it's ideally located in the center of Lake George Village. The beach is right there, along with restrooms, and you're within walking distance of plenty of shops and restaurants.
This is also the epicenter for live music during summer nights, plus the Thursday night fireworks. Grab some takeout lunch in the Village and have a picnic in the park!
Adventures Await at Gurney Lane Recreation Area
Gurney Lane Recreation Area in Queensbury offers an array of activities suitable for the whole family. The playground area has been recently upgraded to include new safety surfacing, safety fencing, and adaptive play structures.

Wetlands & More to Explore at Hovey Pond Park
Hovey Pond Park is the other primary park in Queensbury, and it couldn't be better for kids! They'll love the accessible playground with slides and swings, two little book libraries, and a "kindness rocks" garden, a take-or-leave rock garden with painted rocks that have pretty designs or inspirational messages on them.
There's also a "secret garden," with a small walking path that meanders through flowers and maybe even some vegetables. Meander through walking paths that go through wetlands and around the fishing pond, which features an accessible dock.
Play & Splash at Crandall Park

The expansive Crandall Park in Glens Falls is known for its playground and varied sports courts, including baseball, soccer, pickleball, basketball, and disc golf. The walking paths and fishing pond provide a peaceful retreat for all ages.

A Hidden Gem Worth Exploring: Moreau Recreation Park
