It’s named Million Dollar Beach for a reason – the breathtaking views, crystal clear waters, and family-friendly atmosphere make for a memorable experience. Recently, Lake George’s favorite beach was listed as one of the best lake beaches in the US by Fodors.com for the second year in a row, and it’s not hard to tell why!
Located on the southernmost part of Lake George, Million Dollar Beach offers 1,700 feet of sandy shores for guests and families to spread out and relax. A large designated swimming area is available and monitored by lifeguards in the summer. Beautiful views of the Adirondack mountains looming over the sparkling waters can be seen in the distance.
In addition to the scenic sights, the beach has plenty of amenities nearby, like a volleyball court and a bathhouse facility with showers, restrooms, and changing rooms. Picnic tables and grills are also available to guests, making it the perfect beach for a day trip and enjoying lunch by the water.
Million Dollar Beach is also a popular spot for summer boaters who make use of the public boat launch, boat inspection station, and boat wash station near the beach area. The boat inspection station and boat wash station are free of charge, and because boat inspections are required for all trailered boats entering Lake George, the use of both here is encouraged.
Another bonus of visiting Million Dollar Beach is its close proximity to the heart of Lake George Village. After a long day in the sun, take a stroll to grab a bite to eat at one of Lake George’s many restaurants, or hit the town and check out the stores around the area.
