Lake George Village’s popular fireworks shows continue this Thursday at 9:30 pm, and this week’s installment is sponsored by the Fort William Henry. This year, the Village’s weekly displays are drawing crowds in record numbers, which has caused some major traffic jams following each show. Read on for a parking strategy that could lead to a smoother exit from the Village.

Officials recommend for locals to try and come early, park on the many back streets in the Village, and exit south to Sewell Street or Birch Avenue as crossing southbound traffic north on Mountain Drive backs up traffic for over an hour.
In a press release, Lake George Mayor, Robert Blais stated, “We want those who are familiar with our streets to have an enjoyable time,” adding, “but going south or staying in the Village for an hour [after the fireworks end] will help you going home.”
