It’s been a snowy week in the Lake George Region, but by this coming weekend, the weather should be clear for outdoor activities and fun events. From St. Patrick’s Day celebrations to maple weekend open houses, we’ve rounded up some of the top things to do in and around Lake George!
Experience St. Patrick’s Day in the Lake George Area
Sham ‘Rock’ the Block in Lake George – Saturday, March 17 & Sunday, March 18
Lake George Village’s annual St. Patrick’s Day extravaganza will be held on Saturday and Sunday! Hosted by Duffy’s Tavern, the schedule of events will include a corned beef and cabbage dinner, a parade, a keg tossing contest, pony rides, live music, and much more for both kids and adults.
St. Patrick’s Day Weekend Wine Tasting at Adirondack Winery – Friday, March 16 – Sunday, March 18
Adirondack Winery will host an amazing wine tasting weekend in celebration of St. Patrick’s Day! Stop by for a tasting, special weekend upgrades, a guess the cork contest, and even some Shamrock Sangria. Tastings range from $7-$35.
St. Patrick’s Day Vendor Fair – Saturday, March 17
Check out the Lake George Chamber of Commerce & CVB’s new St. Patrick’s Day Vendor Fair at the Holiday Inn Resort in Lake George. The fair will be open to the public from 11:00am-2:00pm and feature a wide array of local vendors.
St. Patrick’s Day Celebration at West Mountain – Saturday, March 17
There’s still plenty of snow for skiing! Visit West Mountain for their St. Patrick’s Day event on Saturday and enjoy skiing and tubing, live music, corned beef and cabbage, drink specials, and more. The celebration will run from 10:00am-9:00pm.
Chestertown St. Patrick’s Day Parade – Saturday, March 17
Head over to nearby Chestertown for a fantastic St. Patrick’s Day Parade on Saturday from 1:00pm-2:00pm. The parade will be held on Main Street and begin in southern Chestertown.
The Magical Leprechaun Race – Saturday, March 17
Gore Mountain’s annual Magical Leprechaun Race will take place this Saturday beginning 8:00am! Challenge the leprechauns and see if you can win the race; or, join the leprechaun team and take on all the challengers.
Mark Your Calendar for Maple Weekend Fun
Thurman Maple Days Weekend 2 – Saturday, March 17 & Sunday, March 18
The second of three Thurman Maple Days weekends will be held this Saturday and Sunday. Four local maple farms will open their doors to the public for demos, talks, activities, and more from 10:00am-4:00pm.
Maple Weekend at Maple Acres – Saturday, March 17 & Sunday, March 18
Visit Maple Acres in Granville for a fun and educational open house this weekend! Tour the sugar house and see how sap becomes syrup. There will also be maple baked goods and warm drinks.
Maple Weekend at Hidden Hollow Maple Farm Inc. – Saturday, March 17 & Sunday, March 18
As part of their weekend open house, Hidden Hollow Maple Farm Inc. will present a sugar house tour explaining the maple syrup production process for visitors.
Maple Sugaring at Up Yonda Farm – Saturday, March 17
Up Yonda Farm in Bolton Landing will host a Maple Sugaring event on Saturday at 1:00pm. Learn about the traditional process that yields the sweet syrup you know and love. They will cover all the steps from sap to syrup.
