While some are preparing for their hometown holiday celebration, others feature places where you can enjoy holiday activities and gift shopping. From Ticonderoga to Glens Falls, here are some of the area’s can’t-miss events for this coming weekend.
Community-Wide Holiday Celebrations
2017 Hometown Holidays Celebration – Friday, December 1 & Saturday, December 2
Get ready for Glens Falls’ annual Hometown Holidays Celebration! This year, the community-wide event will take place over the course of two days. Attend the ceremonial tree lighting and enjoy local attractions and activities on Friday, and then discover even more fun the following day.
8th Annual Ticonderoga Area North Country Christmas – Today Through Sunday, December 3
Head to Ticonderoga at the northern end of Lake George and check out the ongoing North Country Christmas! This community-wide celebration will conclude on Sunday, so you won’t want to miss the Holiday Shopping & Dining Night on Friday, Holiday in Hague on Saturday, SantaFest on Sunday, and more.
29th Annual Christmas in Warrensburgh – Friday, December 1 – Sunday, December 3
One of the biggest holiday celebrations in the Lake George Region this year will be the 29th Annual Christmas in Warrensburgh. From Friday through Sunday, some of the top events happening in the community will include a Living Nativity, pet photos with Santa, church bazaars, great food, holiday activities, and more.
Hudson Falls Hometown Holiday Celebration – Friday, December 1
The Village of Hudson Falls will present their annual Hometown Holiday Celebration on Friday. There will be Christmas carols and a tree lighting at 5:30pm, a parade at 6:15pm, and fun activities beginning at 6:30pm.
Gift Shopping Opportunities
27th Annual Christmas in the Country – Friday, December 1 – Sunday, December 3
Throughout the weekend, fifteen artists in Washington County will open their studios to visitors in celebration of the holiday season. Take a tour, enjoy a unique shopping experience, and have fun at each stop.
Gifting the Adirondacks Holiday Fair – Saturday, December 2
On Saturday from 10:00am-3:00pm, Adirondack Folk School in Lake Luzerne will host their Gifting the Adirondacks Holiday Fair. Stop by for holiday goodies, and then browse a wide selection of amazing items made by local artisans.
Holiday Festivities & Activities
26th Annual North Country Festival of Trees – Friday, December 1 – Sunday, December 3
Bring the whole family to the historic Queensbury Hotel in Glens Falls for a magical Festival of Trees this weekend. See the beautifully decorated trees and wreaths, and then stick around for a variety of special events, such as a Holiday Luncheon and a Sugar Plum Ball. The Festival of Trees will be open to the public all weekend long.
Wreath Making at Up Yonda Farm – Friday, December 1 & Saturday, December 2
Looking for a fun holiday activity that’s not too far from Lake George Village? Take a short drive to Bolton Landing this weekend during Up Yonda Farm’s wreath making event. Participants will have the opportunity to make their own beautiful evergreen wreath, and all supplies will be provided. The cost is $15 per wreath, or $10 for members and Bolton residents.
Reindeer Run & Reindeer Run Jr. – Sunday, December 3
On Sunday morning, the Adirondack Runners will present their annual Reindeer Run & Reindeer Run Jr. at SUNY Adirondack in Queensbury. Options include a 4-mile course and a 1-mile fun run course for the kids. Registration is currently available online, and it will also be available before the start of the races at SUNY Adirondack’s Student Center.
