Summer is almost here, so why not plan a boating trip? Although the Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) closed its Lake George Beach Boat Launch for Americade, now that the event has passed, the boat launch is open for the public through Labor Day!
Located on Beach Road in Lake George Village, the Lake George Beach Boat Launch is operated by the DEC. The boat launch officially opened at 6:00AM on June 16, and it will be open daily from 6:00AM-8:00PM until it closes again in early September. There is a $10 fee to launch a boat from this site. The boat launch has limited parking space for vehicles and trailers, so it’s best to arrive early. Overnight parking at Lake George Beach and the boat launch is prohibited.
Lake George Beach opens to the public starting Saturday, June 18, at 9:00AM. The beach’s hours, from 9:00AM-6:00PM, are different than the boat launch’s hours. There is a $10 fee to park a car in the lot, and a $50 fee for buses. However, seniors 62 and older, with New York State license plates, are allowed to park for free Monday-Friday, except on holidays.
If the parking lot is full, there are plenty of other public launch sites on Lake George!
