October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and Lake George’s Adirondack Winery is doing its part to raise money for and awareness about the cause!
For the third year, the Winery will be hosting a “Drink Pink Fundraising Event Weekend“ with proceeds going to the Warren County Chapter of Making Strides Against Breast Cancer. Scheduled for October 16-18, the Drink Pink Weekend will feature a Drink Pink Painting Party on Friday, followed by games, raffles, and wine slushies on Saturday and Sunday.
The centerpiece of the Winery’s fundraising efforts is its Drink Pink Berry Blush. Drink Pink Weekend attendees will get to sample the raspberry-infused, semi-sweet rose wine, and Adirondack Winery will donate $4 from every bottle sold during the month of October to Making Strides. While it’s one of the Winery’s best sellers all year long, Berry Blush dons a special Drink Pink label for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The Winery is also selling a number of other pink wine-related items that can be viewed and purchased online or at the tasting room on Canada Street.
Additionally, a team from Adirondack Winery will be participating in the “Making Strides Against Breast Cancer” Walk at Queensbury High School on October 25. All are invited to join the walk!
Last year, the Winery raised $2,924 for Making Strides, and this year the goal has been set at $3,000. “We hope to play a part in raising awareness and contributing to a world without breast cancer; a disease that has affected so many people right in our own community,” said Sasha Pardy, Co-Owner & President of Adirondack Winery in a statement.
