When the A&W restaurant on Route 9 in Lake George caught fire in July, the future of the eatery became uncertain. Loyal customers will be glad to know, however, that the drive-in’s owner has officially announced his intention to re-open before the next summer season.
According to The Post Star, A&W owner Dave Madden said, “We’ll be open next May.” Madden has owned the business since 1978, and was inspired to rebuild by the support of those who loved and frequented his establishment.
The site is currently being stripped out and prepared for renovations, and Madden has said he’s in the process of securing the necessary permits.
What can restaurant-goers expect when the drive-in re-opens next year? The Post Star quoted Madden as saying, “It’s going to be exactly the way it (was).”
