The annual smelt run is about to take place on Lake George and that is a great time to fish for the Salmon and lake trout. The waters approach 45 degrees and the smelt will make their spawning run up several of the lakes streams. The salmon and lake trout will follow the smelt into these shallow waters where they can easily ambush and feast on the smelt.
Trolling stickbaits, spoons and streamer flies outside these Brooks can produce some excellent results. To improve your odds and save a lot of time searching and changing gear, book a charter with one of the lakes fishing guides, you won’t be disappointed. Feel free to give me a call with any questions.I hope to see you on the water.
