Raise Your Steins to Lake George’s Ultimate Oktoberfest Celebrations
As the season changes from summer to fall, the Lake George region comes alive with the excitement of not one but two Oktoberfest celebrations: the Lake George Village Oktoberfest and the Adirondack Brewery Oktoberfest Charity Block Party! This year's charity organization is the Ben Osborn Foundation.

Kicking off the festivities is the local favorite that combines the traditional Oktoberfest celebrations with the charm of Lake George: the Lake George Village Oktoberfest. This family-friendly, free-entry event transforms the heart of Lake George into a bustling European-style street fair.
As soon as you enter the festival, you'll feel like you've been transported straight to Germany. Sponsored by Adirondack Brewery and High Peaks Distilling, the festival features traditional music and an incredible selection of Bavarian food and brews.
The streets of Lake George Village will also come alive with over 30 vendors, artisans, and fun activities, like a barrel race, a keg-throwing contest, dancing chickens, and more.
There will even be games and rides for kids to ensure everyone has a great experience regardless of age. Guests can indulge in traditional Oktoberfest fare, like grilled sausages, giant pretzels, turkey legs, and Wienerschnitzel as well.
At Oktoberfest, there is no shortage of specialty beverages, thanks to the local and regional breweries showcasing their finest creations.
This year’s beer selection boasts an assortment of Adirondack Brewery's top-notch offerings, including an Oktoberfest brew, Lake George IPA, and Bare Naked Ale. In addition, guests will have the opportunity to try the new canned cocktails from High Peaks Distilling.
Adirondack Brewery Oktoberfest Charity Block Party
October 19, 2024, 1pm to 5pm
The heart and soul of any Oktoberfest are the brews, and the Adirondack Brewery Oktoberfest Charity Block Party sure does deliver. This 21-and-over block party is a beer festival-style celebration that guarantees a good time.
Attendees can sample delicious brews from 12 New York State guest breweries in addition to Adirondack Brewery’s fall classics that will be on tap. There will also be an array of local wine and craft cider options.
Oktoberfest isn’t just about beer though, it’s a whole sensory experience. The festival will feature German bites, like mouthwatering potato pancakes, bratwurst, knackwurst, and more.
Additionally, guests can test their strength in the keg tossing and stein hoisting contests, play a leisurely game of cornhole, and listen to live music.
Whether you’re dancing the polka or making your way through endless beer samples, you’ll be swept up in the Oktoberfest spirit.
If the endless amount of food, beverages, and entertainment aren’t enough, there is something even more special about this event. Since its beginnings almost 15 years ago, the Adirondack Brewery Oktoberfest Charity Block Party has raised well over $100,000 for local charities and doesn’t plan on stopping there.
Party for a Great Cause
This year, all proceeds of the Charity Block Party benefit the Ben Osborn Fund. This nonprofit supports local youth in need, aiding in school supplies, tutoring services, winter clothing, and more.
You may have seen their little book libraries, or book collection stations, at local parks - these book collection stations are actually all across the country!
"We work with some of the best organizations, vendors, and staff in the area to make these events happen, and being able to help support and donate to these local charities is truly amazing,” says Adirondack Pub and Brewery General Manager James McReynolds.
