6th Annual Otis Mountain Get Down
Note: This year's event has sold out!
Otis Mountain Media, LLC is proud to host the sixth annual Otis Mountain Get Down this September 7-9th, 2018. Continuing its commitment to elevating the causes of music, community and experience, this year’s OMGD features a world-class lineup of musicians, both local and international, as well as a growing roster of workshops and opportunities to explore the Adirondack Mountains. The event is sure to be another evolution of what has become one of the most distinct festivals on the East Coast.
With 40+ musical acts, the lineup continues to bring a range of local, regional, national and international performers to the Adirondack region. Rather than enticing audiences with big name headliners, Otis’ line up is curated based on quality, diversity and spirit with an eye for bands on the rise. Intimate performances are not limited to Otis’ three amplified stages—artists are known to perform impromptu across the site, and through the woods.
In addition to the music, Otis Mountain offers a venue that encourages engagement with the outdoors. Built on an old-time ski hill in the heart of the Adirondacks, Otis offers pristine campsites, hiking, extensive mountain biking trails and little to no cell service. Otis is proud to be a mountain bike and hiker-friendly festival, and all facilities are free for festival goers to enjoy. Folks can expect a weekend off the grid, full of community, art, music & exploration.
This year the festival has expanded its offerings to include new programing such as the first-ever Otis Mountain Comedy Showcase, Story Studio led by the Adirondack Center for Writing, an Indian Taal Drumming Workshop, and the opportunity to Screenprint your own Poster with the Iskra Collective. Festival goers are free to enjoy these, along with yoga, organized mountain bike rides, guided hikes for kids, and more.
There are a limited amount of weekend passes currently available for $80, which includes camping & parking. Children 12 and under enter free with purchase from a parent or guardian. As seen in previous years, tickets have been moving fast and are expected to sell out prior to the event once the 2500-person capacity has been reached.
Otis Mountain Get Down is an independent, cooperatively produced event. The focus stays on supporting artists, vendors, and the community both locally and beyond. Musical performances are multi-tracked, mastered and matched with dynamic video recordings to support artists, and give audiences the opportunity to enjoy Otis year-round. The goal of the Otis Mountain Get Down is to produce an experience that encourages new and meaningful interactions with art, music, the outdoors, and each other.
