The already-spotless Heritage of Lake George – they’ve had positive reviews about their cleanliness long before COVID-19 – has recently brought their cleaning protocols up to a new level. We recently chatted with Diana McGurk of Heritage of Lake George about all the new procedures in place. Read about their updated cleaning and safety guidelines, and find out what new amenity they’ve added this year!
Guests Can Enjoy Hotel Amenities Safely
Guests are still allowed use of the heated pool, picnic tables, grills, and gazebo. And, new this year, they’re offering free bike rentals! (Bonus tip: Million Dollar Beach is just a seven-minute bike ride away from the hotel.)
“There are three cleaning stations on the property with disinfectant that our guests can use anytime,” McGurk said. “One of them is located next to the bikes so they can ride a clean bike every time.”
Pool chairs, lounge chairs in the courtyard, chairs around the fire pit, and the tables and chairs on the deck have all been spaced out according to social distancing guidelines.
Disinfecting & Sanitizing is in Full Swing
Every guest room is sanitized prior to check-in using CDC-approved products. Every high-touch guestroom surface is sanitized using an FDA-approved disinfectant solution. All high-touch common area surfaces are sanitized throughout the day.
More specifically, objects that are disinfected include the bath, sink handles, faucets, grab bars, toilet lid, remote control, phone, clock radio, light switches, dresser, nightstand tops and handles, doorknobs, window latches, stair handrails, the pool area, and anything else that is touched by hands.
Objects that are sanitized include the gate lock and gate surface, pool chairs, tables at the pool, lounge chairs, umbrella handles, the front porch, the front door to the office, the front desk shelf in the office, and the handles and utensils on grills.
Keys are Cleaned, Service & Checkout is Contactless
“Since we do have actual real keys for guestrooms, all the keys are being disinfected and after that placed in a small Ziploc bag – and the person doing this procedure is wearing gloves,” McGurk told us. “In this way when we are giving the keys at the check-in process, no one has touched them after they were disinfected.” (TV remote controls are also bagged after being cleaned and disinfected.)
They do not currently provide daily cleanings for guests, but instead offer fresh towels and toiletries for you, and remove trash if left outside your room. Staff only enter rooms at the request of the guests. When it comes time to head home, you drop the key in the drop box outside the office for a contactless check out.
The Reviews Speak for Themselves
This hotel has always had a cleanliness score over 9.0 on Booking.com and you’ll find rave reviews about their cleanliness – before the pandemic began, and now.
One Google reviewer said last month: “An awesome place to stay. Very accommodating and the owners were welcoming and super pleasant as well as the staff. The location is [within] walking distance of everything. The room was really clean, and the property was well maintained. I really enjoyed the night fire pit. So cozy.”
From a Hotels.com reviewer last year: “It was very clean and the chairs and table outside the room were nice to have. The pool and grounds are very well-maintained – saw someone every morning cleaning the pool.”
