Million Dollar Beach On Lake GeorgeDown the road past the Steamboats on the way to the east side, you'll find the most popular beach, Million Dollar Beach (pictured below). This beach is state run, very clean and family friendly with trained lifeguards on duty. Admission to the beach is "free" but the parking is $6 car and $3 per motorcycle. Million Dollar Beach has the best changing rooms and most "sand" of all the Lake George beaches. Teenagers will prefer Million Dollar Beach, which is packed with people and has a sandy volleyball court and a very nice locker area.

Shepard's Park Beach - Lake George NYIn the heart of the village, behind the fountain and the outdoor stage, you will find the most popular "free" beach... Shepard's Park Beach (pictured below). Located on Canada Street in Lake George, Shepard's Park has restrooms and is centrally located near all the village restaurants and shopping.

Usher's Park Beach
Just past Million Dollar Beach on Route 9L is the little known Usher's Park Beach. This very safe, free beach is quieter. It is located down a steep hill (you can ask the state workers with the golf carts to take you up and down if you are loaded with too much beach stuff). This park is my choice for parents with small children who are concerned with safety. It’s small enough that you can know where your kids are at all times. There is one lifeguard on duty and the area where you swim is extremely shallow.
On the top of the hill there is a fantastic playground for children of all ages and a very large picnic area for large families and a basketball court.
To get there: Take Beach Road east past the Steamboats and the Million Dollar Beach until you come to the end (Route 9L), take a left on Route 9L. Drive a few hundred yards and you will see a parking lot, basketball courts and a playground on your right. Park at the Parking lot and follow the path down the hill to the beach.
