The Lake George Triathlon Festival offers three distinct distances, ensuring a course that aligns perfectly with your training level, endurance, and personal goals. Whether you are a budding athlete or an ambitious veteran, there is a place for you on the starting line.

Alpha Sprint: Fast & Furious

  • The Course: 750m Swim | 12.4 mi Bike | 3.1 mi Run

  • Who it’s for: The "budding triathlete." Ideal for those who have a few sprints under their belt and are looking for a fast, focused race that fits into a busy professional schedule. It’s a high-energy distance that rewards smart pacing.

  • Pro Diet Tip: For the Sprint distance, fuel up on race morning with a protein and carbohydrate-rich drink (approx. 500 calories) to keep your energy levels peaked without feeling weighed down.

Alpha Olympic: The Next Level

  • The Course: 1500m Swim | 24.8 mi Bike | 6.2 mi Run

  • Who it’s for: The "flourishing triathlete." Designed for seasoned sprinters ready to double their distance. If you’ve been piecing together your own training plans and are ready to test your stamina in the "Queen of American Lakes," this is your race.

  • Injury Prevention Tip: Proper form is your best defense. Focus on natural body mechanics during your training sessions to ensure you reach the finish line healthy and strong.

Alpha Long Course: The Ultimate Test

  • The Course: 1.2 mi Swim | 56 mi Bike | 13.1 mi Run

  • Who it’s for: The "ambitious triathlete." This 70.3-mile journey requires significant commitment, often involving daily multi-hour training sessions and professional coaching. It is a distance that demands respect and careful preparation.

  • Course Prep Tip: There is no substitute for local knowledge. If possible, spend some time training on the actual Lake George course—swim in the lake and cycle the mountain roads—to gain a competitive edge on race day.
