About this event
Cambridge Valley Flying Club to host Aviation Day/Fly-in on Saturday, June 7, 9am-4pm (rain date Sunday, June
Aviation Day will take place, as always, at our local airport Chapin Memorial Field (1B8) 177 Plaines Rd. one mile north of Cambridge just off rt. 22.
Pilots fly into Chapin Field in all types of planes, many of them antiques, even planes the pilots have built themselves.
Whether you fly or not, Aviation Day has become a premier local community event for the Cambridge, Greenwich, Salem and Bennington area. Chapin Field will be busy all day with lots of families and aviation enthusiasts enjoying the food, looking at the planes, learning about aviation, and enjoying watching planes fly in and out. This year, Aviation Day is the same day as the popular fly in breakfast at Kline Kill, NY. Pilots attending this will be encouraged to have “breakfast at Kline Kill and lunch in Cambridge”.
And, who knows, you might be able to take a short flight with a CVFC member in their plane. It’s an experience you will never forget! Come early on Saturday, starting at 9am to reserve your ride.
Returning this year, the Hoosick Air Modelers will present a display of some of their finest model airplanes. They will be on hand to discuss the joys of the model airplane hobby.
Featured this year will be the antique and unique automobiles that attendees bring to Aviation Day. There will be a dedicated parking area for these special cars.
The tradition of pilot cooked food in the large club hangar is an important part of Aviation Day. Hamburgers/hot dogs and many other delights and desserts will be available.
Event times and information subject to change and not guaranteed.
