Save the Date for This Musical & More Coming in the Summer
If you didn’t know, famed painter Georgia O’Keeffe has a rich connection to Lake George, which will be celebrated this summer with a new musical called Nearby Faraway. The production will take place at the Carriage House at Fort William Henry in July to commemorate the centennial of O’Keeffe’s “breakthrough summers” in Lake George. The event will be more than a musical, though, with additional activities and more as part of an “O’Keeffe-Fest.”
In the meantime, you can check out O’Keeffe’s Pattern of Leaves, shown here, which is on display at The Hyde Collection through May.
Congrats to Charlie’s Bar & Kitchen on Their Chowder Cook-Off Win
Charlie’s Bar & Kitchen took home the gold for their chowder last Saturday at the Lake George Winter Carnival. The Garrison came in second, and Blue Thirty-Two third. Fun fact: Blue Thirty-Two came in second place for the first weekend’s Chili Cook-Off, and second place for the second weekend’s BBQ Cook-Off. Can they pull out a gold before the end of the season? Find out this Saturday at the Mac & Cheese Cook-Off!
Note: Pre-sale tickets for the Mac & Cheese Cook-Off are sold out. But, event organizers are offering a limited amount of “stand by” samples to be sold the day-of, so get there early!
