Lake George News to Know: A County Grant, Toy Donations & Another Resort Sells
Warren County Receives Grant Funding for a Variety of Projects
Warren County is undoubtedly thrilled to announce that the County is set to receive $380,338 in grant funding to help protect the environment, determine housing needs of residents, and to promote recreation.
“These awards through the New York State Consolidation Funding Application program represent the culmination of many hours of staff time across multiple departments here in Warren County,” Warren County Planning Director Wayne Lamothe said in a statement. “I am extremely pleased New York State recognized the value of the projects proposed in these grant applications.”

Bring Unwrapped Toys & Games to Village Hall
Lake George Village announced they will be accepting unwrapped toys or games from now through January 20 for use at the Ronald McDonald Charities at Krantz Cottage, and elsewhere.
Donations from local businesses of meals, attractions, cruises, and restaurants have been well received and appreciated by each family that has stayed at the cottage so far, and many more are scheduled to visit. These are families who have or had seriously ill children who have been utilizing the Ronald McDonald Charity services. It allows families to get away from the hospital and enjoy a lovely place like Lake George.
Toys and games will be accepted at the Village Hall at 26 Old Post Road between the hours of 8:30am to 4pm, Monday through Friday.
Lake George Sees Another Commercial Property Sale
Cesare and Ginny Porter sold Country Cottages in Diamond Point to Robert Hansen on December 28, 2021, for $2.75 million, reports Foothills Business Daily. Hansen, a Long Island HVAC manufacturer, also purchased the $3.2 million Lake George Suites earlier in the year.
Country Cottages consists of 17 cottages with full basements, four motel units, and a three-bedroom log cabin. Hansen plans to keep the property as a resort.
This commercial property sale is one of several in the Lake George region over the past year, including the Flamingo Resort and Capri Village Resort, each of which sold in November.
