If you love the outdoors, nothing compares to a camping trip on the shores of beautiful Lake George. It’s a fun way to spend time with family and friends, and starting this summer, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) will begin accepting online reservations for their group sites at the Rogers Rock Campground and Day Use Area in Hague.
Round Up a Group for a Summer Camping Trip
Located just outside of Ticonderoga on the northern end of Lake George, Rogers Rock Campground and Day Use Area is a DEC-operated campground that is popular among families. The recreational facility features 332 total campsites, three group camping areas, a guarded swimming area, a boat launch, picnic pavilion rentals, a picnic area with tables, BBQ grills, and more.
Previously, the DEC used a lottery system for group site reservations. However, in January 2020, they announced that campers will now be able to make online reservations for these three group sites, named Ballfield, Association A, and Association B.
In that same press release, the DEC noted that day-users can now make online reservations for pavilions at North-South Lake Campground and Day Use Area in Haines Falls in the Catskills. According to DEC Commissioner Basil Seggos, “The ability to make online reservations for group sites and pavilions will now allow more New Yorkers and visitors to enjoy two of DEC’s most popular campground facilities.”
As mentioned on the Rogers Rock Campground booking page on the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation’s website, the 2020 booking window for campsites at Rogers Rock will be February 5, 2020 – November 4, 2020.
