December is underway, and although the holidays will be arriving before you know it, there are still a ton of holiday-themed events to look forward to this season. On Friday, Saturday, and Sunday of this weekend, Adirondack Ballet Theater will present “The Nutcracker Ballet” at the Charles R. Wood Theater in Glens Falls. The play will be performed by dance students, guest artists, and local actors. Get your tickets for one of their weekend performances of this timeless holiday classic!
Boat Load of Toys at Boats By George – Friday, December 8
Help support Operation Santa Claus and bring one unwrapped toy to Boats By George in Lake George this Friday. Guests will enjoy food and beverages during this fun holiday mixer from 6:00pm-8:00pm.
2017 Annual Holiday Festival & Tree Lighting in Queensbury – Friday, December 8
Join the Town of Queensbury at their town offices on Friday evening for the annual Holiday Festival & Tree Lighting. Santa will be at the festival and ready to hear all of the children’s Christmas wishes. Other highlights will include food, drinks, entertainment, a raffle, and more.
7th Annual Latke Fest – Sunday, December 10
Visit the Temple Beth El in Glens Falls on Sunday afternoon for a fun-filled Latke Fest! This food festival will feature plenty of latkes, holiday treats, live music, dancing, and children’s activities. Admission is $15 for adults and $5 for kids.

Uncork & Craft: Wine Sign Painting at Adirondack Winery – Friday, December 8
Sip on wine and and enjoy a light food spread at Adirondack Winery as you work on making a hand-painted wooden sign to take home with you. Seats are limited, so reservations are suggested. The cost to participate is $35.
Winter Wine Glass Painting – Friday, December 8
Paint a winter scene on your own wine glass at Sip and Canvas in Glens Falls this Friday! The class will offer step by step instruction for painting birch trees and cardinals on the glass. The cost to participate is $40.
Chapman Museum December Open House – Sunday, December 10
This Sunday, the Chapman Historical Museum in Glens Falls will host their December Open House from 1:00pm-4:00pm. Learn about the work of “Snowflake” Bentley, who discovered how to take photographs of snowflakes. The event will also feature music by the Adirondack Flutes, a snowflake making activity for the kids, and more.

Adirondacker’s Log Jam – Saturday, December 9
Don’t miss out on Gore Mountain’s exciting Adirondacker’s Log Jam on Saturday! Both skiers and snowboarders will be competing in events starting at 11:00am. Costume prizes will be awarded, and flannels, beards, overalls, and other Adirondack attire are welcomed. To compete, registration is $5.
Adirondack Thunder vs. Norfolk Admirals – Saturday, December 9
Head to the Thunderdome (Cool Insuring Arena) in Glens Falls on Saturday night for a thrilling hockey game between the hometown Adirondack Thunder and the Norfolk Admirals.
