What's New In Lake George NY: Fun Events, News & More!

Lake George Recognized By Outside Magazine!

Anyone who has ever been to Lake George knows about the gorgeous views, amazing outdoor adventure opportunities, and abundance of water-based activities, so it’s no surprise that the region recently received national attention! Outside Magazine and The North Face teamed up to compile a list of “50 Places You Have To #SeeForYourself” and they included Lake George!

The write-up stated that “Lake George offers [a] magic combo of water and backcountry trails” and mentions cliff jumping as an attraction that should not be missed. In particular, Calves Pen, “a 50-foot high outcropping in Log Bay on the east shore,” was the recommended location for cliff jumping.

Three other destinations in New York State made the list (Chittenango Falls, Rockaway Beach, and Appalachian Trail) with Catamount Trail, VT and the Stone Hut on Mount Mansfield, VT being geographically closest to Lake George. Outside Magazine and The North Face based their selections on the presence of scenic views and opportunities for unique outdoor experiences.

It may be too cold for cliff jumping this time of year, but there’s still plenty of exciting things to do in Lake George! Check out the Lake George Winter Guide and see for yourself!
