The month long carnival has winter embedded in its name, but the last weekend of the Winter Carnival felt more like spring was in the air. It was even warm enough to cancel the car races. But the culmination of the Winter Carnival can only mean the end of February. What will March have in store for us?
Spring marks the season for pure Adirondack maple products. Learn the craft of maple sugaring from many of the local masters in Upstate New York. Take home some locally produced maple syrup or candies.
3. Boating Season Is In the Air…at the Washing Station
On a different note, another sign of spring is marked by the established Lake George Park Commission boat inspection policy. This policy has been talked about in the local newspapers earlier this years and this spring marks its inception. The boat inspections will help prevent the spread of the five invasive species in Lake George by setting up inspections at six of Lake George’s launches.
4. Students Get Ready for Prom
Even though The Lake George High School prom isn’t until late-May, many high school students start planning for prom early. Limos need to be reserved. Hair appointments need to be made. Many high school students skip thinking about winter and plan for one of the biggest nights they will have this spring. And if you are a mom, prom isn’t over!
