The Lake George Polar Plunge is a great tradition and most definitely NOT for the faint of heart. If the idea striping down and diving into the frigid water does not sound like something you are brave enough to do but you still want to participate – there’s a place for you: the Chicken Coop!
Its okay to be too chicken to plunge into the waters of Lake George. Brand new this year, people who want to join in the fundraiser won’t even have to dip as much as a big toe into the water!
The Chicken Coop will be a preferred viewing area on one edge of the beach reserved for fund-raisers only. The “chickens” will have a front-row view of all the action, as well as food and drinks.
Like the plungers, the chickens can fund-raise individually or as part of a team. In order to take part, participants needs to raise $50, and if that total is more than $100, the participant will get the official Plunge sweatshirt.
Those taking part in the Chicken Coop are also eligible for additional prizes at specific donation levels – just as the plungers are!
The Polar Plunge is a great way to raise money for a great cause whether you brave the chilly waters or stay warm and dry in the Chicken Coop. So get involved – it will be a fun day for all involved!
