About this event

Before Yaddo was founded in Saratoga Springs, Katrina and Spencer Trask built their first artists’ retreat at Amitola – an Adirondack lodge known as Wakonda where students from the Art Students League of New York held their first retreat. Georgia O’Keeffe (pictured at Wiawaka) was a registered guest-artist in 1908. In honor of her stay we have put together a week filled with programs all about Georgia. Be sure to register early this week is very popular.

Stop by the Front Desk if you are interested in seeing Wakonda where Georgia stayed with the NY City League of Art Students, the historical marker, signage and the sitting room dedicated to Georgia’s stay here at Wiawaka. We will need to know in advance if you are not an overnight guest. Thank You.
