Outdoor recreationists and thrill seeking adventurists will love Adirondack Extreme Adventure Course’s aerial treetop course! And now, there’s even more reason to prioritize crossing this bucket list item off your list – they’ve recently upgraded to top of the line safety equipment.
The Highest Safety Standards for All Equipment
Adirondack Extreme Adventure Course recently announced the completion of over $200,000 in park upgrades, which includes state-of-the-art CLiC-iTĀ® smart belay technology. This safety hooking system synchronizes the open/locked positions of the two carabiners used to clip into the treetop courses, which prevents the accidental release of both at the same time.
In other words, this technology makes it impossible for climbers to become unclipped from the course safety lines while they’re climbing.
While Adirondack Extreme has always made safety a top priority, owner Jamie Johnson explained that they’re simply keeping up with technology as it advances.
“The systems and gear we were previously using were top-rated, well-maintained, and had a 100% success rate at our park,” Johnson said in a statement. “The available technology for our industry evolved and improved, and therefore so did we.”
Additional Upgrades to the Kids Course
The safety equipment improvements are just a part of a series of upgrades Adirondack Extreme has taken on. This past fall, their Kids Course doubled in size with the addition of a second children’s course with higher elevations up to 24 feet, and 15 more obstacles like ziplines, a wavy bridge, a fish trap passage, and more.
In May of last year Adirondack Extreme upgraded the Kids Course with the SaferollerĀ® continuous belay system. This system allows for fast, smoother transitions from obstacle to obstacle with continuous end-to-end rolling and hands-free movement.
The enhancements made to the Kids Course has allowed Adirondack Extreme to lower the age requirement from seven to six years of age. Guests of varying reach requirements are able to participate, and parents now have the option to enjoy the experience along with their children.
