About this event
A Mass for Women in Bathrooms is a new work from award-winning Irish composer Emma O’Halloran and librettist Naomi Louisa O’Connell. Centered around three sisters and their mother, it tells an intimate family story through the lens of Catholic Mass, examining themes of infertility, reproductive rights, and bodily autonomy. Billed as an “opera-theater” work, this show uses the girls’ crumbling relationship with their mother as a metaphor for the deterioration of the church’s power in contemporary Ireland and is wonderful for all lovers of the performing arts — find out for yourself June 22 at 7:30 pm or June 27 at 2 pm.
