Marcus Knodler is 15 years old and is a freshman at Guilderland High School, and Brian Knodler is 13 years old and in 7th grade at Farnsworth Middle School in Guilderland. Both are straight-A honors students. They moved to Guilderland 3 years ago from Chicopee, MA, a town that did not have middle school sports. The Guilderland sports programs offered them new and exciting opportunities, and they dove in to football, wrestling and lacrosse. It has changed their lives immensely. Sports helped them immediately establish friendships and mentoring, while keeping them active. But as they have seen, sports programs are costly, and they have come to realize the reality of budget cuts. Thus, they want to give back to the programs that have become an important part of their lives.
