Weekends in February Are Winter Carnival Time! 
Lake George Village offers a month long celebration of winter during this annual family-friendly event at Shepard Park! The Winter Carnival officially begins with the New Year's Day Polar Plunge and First Day in Lake George. The Winter Carnival then picks up again each weekend throughout February, so mark your calendar and take part in the fun!
Take the plunge! Join the Polar Plunge if you dare! Afraid to get your toes wet that first morning? 
Well, no need to worry -- a polar plunge happens every weekend of the Winter Carnival! Get to the beach by 1:00pm on Saturday and Sunday ofevery weekend for this entertaining sight!
Relish the warmth of tasty samples during the chowder, chili, BBQ and chicken wing cook-offs. Enjoy the always hilarious and fun outhouse races - a crowd pleasing favorite! - as well as dog sled, ATV, snowmobile races and more.
Kids can explore the ice castle, play on the giant ice slide, participate in children's activities, enjoy a tethered hot air balloon ride or snowmobile, sleigh ride and visit a historical reenactors' encampment of the 1700s.

Hot Air Balloon Tether Rides, Helicopter Rides,and
Monster Truck Rides will all be held every weekend at Gaslight Village on West Brook Rd. if there is no ice on the lake.
