Jammin’ Events Happening in the Lake George Region
Popular Cheese Jam Returns to Nettle Meadow
Local cheese, live music, and proceeds going towards a great cause? Count us in! This Saturday, check out the annual Cheese Jam at Nettle Meadow Farm’s Warrensburg location. Doors open at 5pm so guests can visit the farm and sanctuary animals before live music starts at 6pm. Attendees will enjoy delicious ice cream, local beer and wine, and of course their award-winning cheese.
All proceeds from this event go towards Nettle Meadow’s Kemp Animal Sanctuary, to help care for the 100+ animals that call the place home. These creatures consist of older or differently abled sheep and goats from Nettle Meadow’s flock, along with other farm animals like horses, chickens, ducks, pigs, bunnies, and more that were dropped off here when they had no place else to go.
Get Your Taste Buds Ready for a Sensational BBQ Fest

Soul Sky, George Boone Blues Band, Matt Mirabile Band, Sly Fox and the Hustlers, and The Switch are the bluesy groups scheduled to perform.

3 Fun Newsy Tidbits to Know Around Lake George
Gurney Lane Mountain Bike Trail #1 on Popular Biking App
We love Gurney Lane Recreation Area’s Mountain Bike Park in Queensbury, but until recently, we didn’t realize how popular the biking hotspot is. The well-known biking app SingleTracks ranks Gurney Lane as #1 out of #284 mountain bike trails in New York State. Wow!
You can check it out here: https://www.singletracks.com/bike-trails/gurney-lane-mountain-bike-trails/
There’s a New Lake George Book You Can Buy
Boathouses of Lake George: A Journey Around the Queen of American Lakes by Trinket Mason was released this month and is available for sale now. As explained on the website boathousesoflakegeorge.com, many people admire the lake from boathouses, but this book attempts to do the opposite – appreciating the boathouses from the water, as the author takes you all around the lake.
Lake George Steamboat Company Continues Underwater Drone Fun
Make sure to follow the Lake George Steamboat Company on Facebook if you don’t already to get updates on their underwater drone footage. They’ve recently shared a video of a dry dock underwater, and just earlier today a photo of a sunken vessel near the dry dock, shown above.
Their cruises are continuing on this season, although at a limited capacity, so make sure to check out their upcoming schedule and plan ahead to get your tickets.
