Some of the area’s local businesses have a variety of icy attractions in store for visitors, and there will also be plenty of winter season activities to check out. Experience Ice Bars and Icy Attractions
Visit The Sagamore Hotel in Bolton Landing this weekend and check out the spectacular Glacier Ice Bar & Lounge! You’ll have a chance to see exquisite ice carvings and enjoy cocktails and food at the ice bar.
Ice Castle Grand Opening – Friday, January 19
King Neptune’s Pub in Lake George Village will host a grand opening celebration of their ice castle this Friday from 6:00pm-9:00pm. There will be live music by the Paradox Saints, an ice shuffleboard and ice luge, giveaways, and more.
3rd Annual Funky Ice Fest – Friday, January 19 & Saturday, January 20
Have a blast at Adirondack Pub & Brewery during the first weekend of their 3rd Annual Funky Ice Fest! Order up a drink at the ice bar, play some ice beer pong, and enjoy the festivities.
Enjoy Winter Season Activities and Entertainment
Take Your Kids to Gore Week – Saturday, January 20 – Friday, January 26
Once again, Gore Mountain in North Creek will feature a Take Your Kids to Gore Week! During this special week, all kids ages 19 and under can ski or ride for free if accompanied by a full-paying parent. This includes access to the Nordic Center at the North Creek Ski Bowl.
iHeart Radio Winterfest – Saturday, January 20
On Saturday, West Mountain Ski Area will present the iHeart Radio Winterfest from 4:00pm-8:00pm. Join friends, family, and fellow skiers for a night of free skiing on the slopes, live music from Star Society, giveaways, vendors, and more.
Adirondack Thunder vs. Brampton Beast – Friday, January 19
Come watch as the Adirondack Thunder take on the Brampton Beast at Cool Insuring Arena in Glens Falls. The hockey action will kick off at 7:00pm!
Try Something New
Wine & Cheese Weekend at Adirondack Winery – Friday, January 19 – Sunday, January 21
In celebration of National Cheese Lover’s Day, Adirondack Winery will host a weekend of wine and cheese pairings. Try a wide range of gourmet cheeses and discover which wines taste best with them.
Introduction to Cold Process Soap Making – Friday, January 19
This Friday, Roberta Devers-Scott and the Adirondack Folk School will present a class on the Introduction to Cold Process Soap Making at 18 Curran Street in Glens Falls, the building next to the Shirt Factory. Students will leave the class with a loaf of soap that will yield about eight bars.
Art & Yoga – Saturday, January 20
Enjoy yoga? Try The Hyde Collection’s Art & Yoga workout on Saturday morning! Yoga instructor Kate Patterson will lead participants through a yoga session inspired by the art of Alphonse Mucha. Admission is $10 for members and $12 for non-members.
