Celebrating 200 Years: Lake George Steamboat Company To Host Special Anniversary Weekends All Year Long

Did you know Lake George’s very own Lake George Steamboat Company is celebrating its bicentennial this year? It’s true! Since 1817, the historic steamboat company has operated cruises on Lake George and provided visitors with memorable experiences.

In celebration of this unprecedented milestone, the Lake George Steamboat Company will host a series of special weekend cruises and events in spring, summer, and fall of 2017, and you’re invited!

Easter Weekend: April 14th-16th, 2017

Early this spring, the Lake George Steamboat Company will celebrate its bicentennial by offering three great cruises over Easter weekend.

Friday, April 14th – Good Friday Cruise: On Good Friday, the Lake George Steamboat Company will offer a Fish Fry Cruise aboard the Lac du Saint Sacrement. Boarding will take place at 5:00pm, and the special ticket prices are $20.17 for adults and $18.17 for children.

Saturday, April 15th – Official 200th Anniversary Cruises: In celebration of their 200th anniversary, the Lake George Steamboat Co. will offer two free cruises to area residents on this day. The first cruise will board at 10:00am, and the second cruise will board at 2:00pm. Tickets will only be given out one hour before each cruise, and there is a maximum of 700 passengers per cruise.

Sunday, April 16th – Easter Sunday Cruise: Enjoy Easter Sunday with a cruise aboard the Lac du Saint Sacrement. Boarding for this unforgettable Easter Sunday brunch will begin at 11:00am. Tickets are $55 for adults and $22 for children.

Bicentennial Weekend: June 16th-18th, 2017

As we say goodbye to spring, the Lake George Steamboat Company will host four amazing cruises as well as specials all weekend long.

Friday, June 16th – St. Louis Rib Dinner CruiseDo you love ribs? If so, then you won’t want to miss out on the Lake George Steamboat Company’s St. Louis Rib Dinner Cruise aboard the Lac du Saint Sacrement. You’ll love eating delicious, slow-cooked ribs as you cruise along the shores of Lake George. Tickets are $55 for adults and $20 for children.

Saturday, June 17th – Bicentennial Bash Cruise & FireworksNamed the Bicentennial Bash Cruise, this evening event will feature a fantastic fireworks display. This is the perfect way to kick off summer in Lake George and celebrate the company’s bicentennial. Tickets are $60 for adults and $23 for children.

Sunday, June 18th – Sunday Champagne Brunch CruiseEnjoy an elegant afternoon aboard the Lac du Saint Sacrement at the Sunday Champagne Brunch Cruise. This two-hour cruise will include a delicious brunch and entertainment. Tickets are $55 for adults and $20 for children.

Sunday, June 18th – Prime Rib Dinner CruiseEat up at the Lake George Steamboat Company’s Prime Rib Dinner Cruise aboard the Lac du Saint Sacrement. The cruise will include a tasty prime rib buffet and tons of other entrees and sides. Tickets are $55 for adults and $20 for children.

Rock the Dock: August 25th, 2017

Friday, August 25th – Rock the Dock Music Festival: For the first time in the company’s storied history, a concert will be held right on the pier. This special Rock the Dock Music Festival will feature a lineup of some of the area’s most popular bands, including the headliner Formula 5.

Not only that, but the event will include food trucks and drinks from Common Roots, one of the region’s finest craft breweries. You can even listen to the music and relax on board one of the steamboats!

Admission to Rock the Dock is FREE. Don’t miss it!

Balloon Fest Weekend: September 22nd – September 24th, 2017

During the 2017 Adirondack Balloon Festival (September 21st-24th), the Lake George Steamboat Company will join in the celebration and offer a family-friendly festival and three fun cruises.

Saturday, September 23rd – Sunday, September 24th – Family Fun Festival: On both Saturday and Sunday, visit the Lake George Steamboat Company at the Deuce Moose Grill for kids activities, live music, local farmers and artisans selling their wares and products, and more.

Friday, September 22nd – Mardi Gras Dinner CruiseJoin the Lake George Steamboat Company for a Mardi Gras-themed Dinner Cruise aboard the Lac du Saint Sacrement. This festive cruise will cost $55 for adults and $20 for children.

Saturday, September 23rd – Last Minne Moonlight of the Year Cruise: The final moonlight cruise aboard the popular Minne-Ha-Ha will take place Saturday evening. In addition to the cruise, there will also be a fireworks display to close out the night. Tickets are $30 for adults and $12 for children.

Sunday, September 24th – Champagne Brunch CruiseAs part of their Balloon Fest Weekend celebration, the Lake George Steamboat Company will host a Sunday Champagne Brunch Cruise aboard the Lac du Saint Sacrement. Enjoy delicious food and drinks as you cruise along the shores of Lake George. Tickets are $55 for adults and $20 for children.

Fundraiser Cruise: October 15th, 2017

To close out its bicentennial celebration, the Lake George Steamboat Company will host a special fundraiser cruise on Sunday, October 15th.

During the cruise, guests will be able to enjoy live music from a DJ, a pasta station with three different sauces, a dessert bar, various hors d’oeuvres, and more. The company plans to offer auction items as well.

Tickets for the cruise cost $15 for adults, $10 for students ages 12-18, and $8 for children ages 3-11. All proceeds from the fundraiser cruise will go toward Nico’s House Inc. and the Lake George Village Teen Center.
