As many of us know, this year’s Americade motorcycle rally is nearly here, and soon Lake George village will be full of motorcycles. For this huge event, the Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) will temporarily close its Lake George Boat Launch from June 2-17.
Americade, which will officially run from June 6-11, brings over 50,000 motorcyclists and motorcycle enthusiasts to Lake George village. The DEC recently announced the Lake George Beach Parking Lot will be used for Americade under DEC permit. Since the DEC’s boat launch is connected to the parking lot, boaters won’t be able to use the launch until after Americade.
Starting June 2, for the weekends of June 4-5 and June 11-12, Lake George Beach’s parking lot, beach house, and boat launch will be closed to the public. The DEC recommends boaters to use the public boat launch at Norowal Marina in Bolton Landing or one of the other municipal and private marinas on Lake George for this period.
Starting June 18, Lake George Beach, including the boat launch, will be open to the public seven days a week for Lake George’s summer season.
